Bob is a successful owner and investor of multifamily properties and is especially knowledgeable in these areas. He has participated in the sale of more than half a billion dollars in multifamily properties. Bob is also the executive vice president and co-founder of Guaranty Financial, Inc., a commercial mortgage brokerage firm with office located in Macon, Georgia. Founded in 1993, Guaranty has arranged financing for more than $1 billion in commercial properties throughout the Southeast.
Bob is married to the former Cynthia Durden, who is also a licensed Realtor and secretary/treasurer of Bob Lewis & Associates, Inc. Bob has a daughter, Dana Lewis, who lives in Los Angeles, California, who is the owner and operator of STARCAT Academy, a private prep school located in Arcadia, California.
GARY BECHTEL
Gary Bechtel is a lifelong resident of Macon-Bibb County. Gary is currently the Chairman of the Macon Water Authority, having been elected in countywide in 2022 to lead a 7 member Authority that provides water, sewer and storm water service to Macon-Bibb, Monroe County, parts of Jones County and City of Byron. Prior to his election to Macon Water Authority, Gary served as a member of the Macon Bibb Planning and Zoning Commission for 2021 - 2024. Gary also served as a commissioner on Macon Bibb County Commission from 2013 - 2018. In addition, Gary served as a member of the Bibb County Board of Education from 2001 - 2012. In 2003, Gary was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to serve on the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, which he served until 2008.
Gary is a 1989 graduate of Leadership Macon. Gary started his career in banking as a wholesale account executive for Southstar Funding in 2002. In 2006, he was named vice president for mortgage operations at Atlantic Southern Bank. In 2010 he was named an asset manager in Atlantic Southern Bank's special asset division. Upon the closing of Atlantic Southern Bank by the FDIC, he was hired by Certus Bank as an asset manager in the Credit Risk department. Gary was responsible for a $40 million portfolio of criticized assets and was responsible for working out complicated credits. In June 2013 he was hired by Guaranty Financial Inc. as vice president. Guaranty Financial is a commercial mortgage brokerage firm with offices in Columbus, Georgia' Macon, Georgia and Orlando, Florida, which has been in business for 22 years and financed over $1 billion dollars in commercial projects all over the Southeast.
